Peanuts

A woman wanted me to box up a fragile item so she could take it home on a plane. She asked me to pack it full of paper to keep it safe. Realizing it would take a lot of tissue paper to fill up the box, I asked her, "How do you feel about peanuts?"

Now, what I meant was, "Is it ok if I use packing peanuts instead of paper?" Unfortunately, the way I worded the sentence sounded like a non sequitur to her, and I suspect she thought I was asking her if she liked the legume!

Once I explained what I meant, she was happy to have me use packing peanuts in her box.
