Back By Popular Demand...

Or, at least, by the fact that Pedicularis asked me if I was dropping this blog. I have been totally slacking lately, sorry!

Here's a new story:

A customer was picking out an expensive (~$50) item. Before purchasing it, he carefully inspected it for any flaws. This was normal. In fact, I would do the same thing. What made it weird was the fact that he clearly hadn't washed his hair in a week, hadn't shaved in days, and was wearing a stained shirt. I would have thought that someone so slovenly about his appearance wouldn't be so picky!

What you describe is not atypical among nerds, scientists, engineers, and craftsmen. Their appreciation of the special item may far exceed their interest in personal grooming. For example, anyone who makes quality kitchen cabinets by hand is normally covered with stains and sawdust.

Yeah, but it wasn't hard-work mess. It was sloppy-eater, too-lazy-to-bathe mess.
