Curling Ribbon
Today I was wrapping a present and we didn't have enough ribbon. I quickly curled some more. One of my co-workers complimented me on my ribbon-curling skill. He said something like, "It's amazing how easily you do that!"
I know he was being nice, but all I could think was: What kind of an idiot can't curl ribbon??

Hey, now. Just because someone knows how to curl ribbon doesn't mean they're proficient at it. Take me, for example. Definitely not precision-grade curls when I try it.
First thought: it was a compliment, accept it graciously, a jerk would not have noticed.
Second thought: he was flirting with you.
I did accept it graciously. The "idiot" part was in my head. Like I said in the post, I know he was trying to be nice, but...
As for your second thought: I hope not. He's old enough to be my father, married, and afraid of me.
