customer: My husband is nearby. Can I pre-pay and have you wrap it so he can just run in and pick it up?

me: We can wrap it, and he can pay when he picks it up because --

customer: Well, let's see if you have the item first.



Is it just me, or should she have asked if we have the item before going through the pre-pay/wrap rigamarole?
